NOTD: China Glaze Gothic Lolita

Good morning!

How’s it? Seems to be going really well for me at the moment. I hope it continues. πŸ™‚

The hubs started his new job yesterday (can you say relieved?), and I decided to paint my nails with this gorgeous purple.

Gothic Lolita was released for Spring this year as part of the Electropop collection. I figured that, since it’s still Spring, I’d get a wear or two out of it.

See all the pretty pink shimmer?

Gratuitous, slightly blurry shot.

Enjoy!

NOTD: China Glaze Reggae To Riches

Also known as “Holy hell, she’s finally posted.”

I know, I know. I’m sorry.

I’ve been bummed since Mardi Gras. My camera got jacked. I’ve been in a really bad funk. I’ve not been very social, even though I lurk on Twitter & FB quite a bit.

I had to chop my nails down due to uncontrollable splitting, which made my funk even worse.

And the hubs had to be rushed to the E.R. a little over a week ago due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). We didn’t even know he had diabetes.

On the bright side, we’ve both starting eating quite a bit healthier. And I couldn’t be happier about it. I think I’ve always been a closet hippie. And I’m enjoying every whole grain. Mwahaha! We went to a health food supermarket co-op in Pensacola this past week (let me tell ya… I really liked it there. Mobile doesn’t have anything like it. We don’t even have a Whole Foods market), and I was in heaven.

I’m going to make him eat quinoa. πŸ˜€

Anyhow, I finally got around to painting my nails. Enjoy. πŸ™‚

I don’t know why it took me so long to get my fingers on this polish… it’s freaking pretty. Purple with a blue shimmer. Applied like buttah. ❀

Pink Wednesday (on a Thursday!): China Glaze 100 Proof Pink

Sooooo I wore this yesterday when I had to make a long ass drive to Lake City, Florida. What’s in Lake City? Nothing much. Not even a decent rock station on the radio. LoL

BUT! I stopped in Tallahassee on the way back to grope and molest some Malabrigo yarn at a Local Yarn Shop (LYS) called Wooly Bully. For those of you not in the know… do not ever get addicted to this yarn. You will be broke as a joke. It may be too late for me. Only finances will tell. I will show you guys some pics of the lovely colorways I picked up too (I’m excited…sorry)!

However, back to the main topic: China Glaze 100 Proof Pink

Sorry... the sun has been playing peek-a-boo all day.

100 Proof Pink is another gift from Secret Santadom (I was spoiled. I know. I still have polishes to show you too). It’s a Barbie pink jelly with silver shimmery goodness.

This is three coats and a coat of SV. *squish squish*

I’m annoyed. Here I sit inside working up this blog post and it’s sunny. Hmph.

Enjoy!

Oh oh oh! And here’s my yarn:

I had to tinker with the color correction for "Cumparsita." The colors themselves are pretty accurate, but the pic does not show how shiny and deep and lush it really is. If I had dyed this, I would have called it "Black Cherry." πŸ˜‰

NOTD: China Glaze Little Drummer Boy

Hey everyone. Hope your holiday season is going well. πŸ™‚

This would be another one of those polishes from China Glaze’s 2010 holiday collection that I never got to spot light.

Please excuse my index nubbin. This is what I've been dealing with the past few weeks. Traumatizing.

Little Drummer Boy is that navy blue that I love so much. This time, instead of a creme, it’s a shimmer. Just lovely IMHO.

By the way, this is a one-coat wonder. What you see here is just one coat and a coat of Seche. IKR? Blew my socks off too.

I know what you’re thinking: “This would make a great stamping base for some Konad and Konad accessories.”

And you’d be right. I tried all ten fingers trying to get a full-nail design to come out. It was so bad that I can’t even show them to you. You’d never be able to tell what they were supposed to be.

More practice for me (._. )

Enjoy!

Blast from the Past: RBL Scrangie

I decided to stop being a lazy heifer and actually post something for you guys’ enjoyment.

I’ve worn Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Scrangie many times since I picked it up last year. This is the first higher-end polish that I ever owned. And I couldn’t wait until it arrived so I could put it on. πŸ˜€

You can tell how long I’ve been hanging onto this picture–it has the old watermark. πŸ™‚

Anyhow, Scrangie is a lovely purple packed full of iridescent green shimmer. It applies like a freaking dream. The above is probably three coats with a coat of SV.

I’ve never had even an ounce of buyer’s remorse over this product. I think Ji did a wonderful job capturing Scrangie’s polish vision and bringing it to life.
