Wet ‘n Wild Buffy The Violet Slayer

Just a quick nail I did a couple of days ago. I received this polish as a gift from a friend.

I had been wanting this polish for a little bit.

I don’t know if it was the formula or the brush (or a combination of both), but it was a chore getting this on my nails.

Have a good rest of your weekends. 🙂

Sally Hansen Marine Scene

Tonight’s post is really random.

While I was sitting here freezing, I said to myself: “Self–why don’t you paint your nails blue to match the temperature of your fingers?”

So I went digging through my blue/purple drawer to find something I hadn’t shown before. I was looking for my OPI Ink, but came across this one instead.

I’ve had this one stuffed in my stash for over a year. I bought it at Big Lots for a buck.

It’s got a little duochrome flash–green and blue. Not too terribly noticeable. Still cute though.

It’s very thin. This is four coats plus topcoat.

P.S. For those of you who heard about the tornadoes roaring through Mobile, David and I are fine. The majority of the damage was in our neighborhood, though. Light a candle for those who lost their homes.

e.l.f. Red Velvet

I meant to post this before leaving for Miami last weekend, but I got sidetracked. My mother’s in the hospital, and (as you can imagine) things have been hectic.

RedVelvet1I received this polish from my Secret Santa for last year’s exchange. It’s a really pretty warm red with a gold shimmer.

RedVelvet2.1On a side note, I broke one of my nails, so they’re all filed down now. Maybe I will get around to showing another polish with the shorter length.

Swatch: Julep Glenn

Hey there.

I’m procrastinating in my real life responsibilities again, so I decided that I would swatch a polish that I’ve had for almost a year. This came in my last Julep box–I believe I received it for December of last year.

This didn’t start out as just a swatch. But I got irritated with the application of Glenn:

Glenn is a pretty warm red (looks like a cool in the photo, sorry) with a gold shimmer.

But I had a lot of cuticle drag. There was some pooling, but that might have been my fault for not wiping the brush 20 times. (._. )

So I stopped at a regular swatch and will not be wearing it for very much longer. 😉

Have a great day.

Is this thing on?

Hi folks. I couldn’t let my favorite holiday go by without posting a little something something.

I couldn’t quite put my finger on what I wanted to wear today, being Halloween and all. I’m not dressing up this year–hubby is out of town working, and I’m hoping he gets back before the trick-or-treaters get here.

We’re in a new house (thank you jeebus) in a busy neighborhood, and I can’t wait to see what tonight brings. Just yesterday, I saw a group of adults out jogging in Halloween costumes. I almost hurt myself laughing.

So I was digging through the polish drawers trying to find something appropriate that I haven’t tried before, when I ran across this polish that a friend had given me. I thought, “vampy nails will work.”

Chelsea is a nice shimmery crimson in the bottle. It goes on a little lighter on the nail. This is three coats + top coat.

I wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. Enjoy.
