Sally Hansen Marine Scene

Tonight’s post is really random.

While I was sitting here freezing, I said to myself: “Self–why don’t you paint your nails blue to match the temperature of your fingers?”

So I went digging through my blue/purple drawer to find something I hadn’t shown before. I was looking for my OPI Ink, but came across this one instead.

I’ve had this one stuffed in my stash for over a year. I bought it at Big Lots for a buck.

It’s got a little duochrome flash–green and blue. Not too terribly noticeable. Still cute though.

It’s very thin. This is four coats plus topcoat.

Enjoy!

P.S. For those of you who heard about the tornadoes roaring through Mobile, David and I are fine. The majority of the damage was in our neighborhood, though. Light a candle for those who lost their homes.

31 Days of Halloween-Day 9: Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice

Another great October morning to you!

Today’s entry is a color that I had been searching for like mad back when it first came out. Apparently, I wasn’t looking in the right place. I was wandering around Walgreens after taking my mother to the doctor, and I spotted this color just kind of lounging out of place with other Xtreme Wears.

Index & Middle: 4 coats. Ring & Pinky: 2 coats over black

As you can see, Pumpkin Spice by itself is pretty thin. But it doesn’t look too bad on its own in person. I actually kind of like the look.

When it’s layered over the black, it reminds me of China Glaze Fortune Teller (which, you can totally still score as well as a bottle of Pumpkin Spice. See below for details). Except Fortune Teller has large orange hex glitter in addition to the small orange glitter. Oh yeah, and it’s opaque in two coats.

Enjoy!

Pink Wednesdays: Sally Hansen Digital

I confess. I love pink.

Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that I don’t own nearly enough pink nail polishes. I will have to remedy that. Don’t tell hubby.

But, today I have for you a $1.00 Big Lots find: a Sally Hansen HD polish in Digital.

Digital is a blue-based pink with hot pink shimmer. Application was a breeze.

I really like the brushes in these polishes–they’re a little wider than the average bear, but not as wide as an OPI or a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. They make application super easy.

This is three coats over a ridge-filling basecoat with one coat of Seche Vite. Love.

Blast from the Past: Sally Hansen Racey Rouge

I’m slowly (but surely) going through my old pictures that I’ve previously posted on Twitter.

This beauty is Racey Rouge from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line. It’s a rich, pinkish red creme.

The brushes on these Insta-Dri polishes are really wide and try to best me constantly.

Blast from the Past: Sally Hansen Grape Going!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Grape Going! This is a delightful purple/blue duochrome with a slight shimmer. I loved it from the moment I saw it.
