China Glaze No Plain Jane

I was pretty excited to hit up the clearance sale at Sally this past weekend. I was able to get my hands on some great finds. And because I had a “$5 off a purchase of $5 or more” coupon from renewing my card, I only paid $0.77 for four polishes. Four of them.

Exciting yes?

This is one of the great finds.

NoPlainJane1No Plain Jane is one of the lovely duochromes released in the Bohemian Collection.

NoPlainJane2.1And since it’s New Year’s Eve, as if the pretty duochrome wasn’t enough, I decided to layer a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust on it. Holographic glitter deliciousness.

Be safe out there tonight.

NOTD: China Glaze Let’s Do It In 3-D

Hallo!

Today I wanted to share with you one of the polishes I received from Secret Santadom: China Glaze Let’s Do It In 3-D.

I will admit, when I first saw the bottle, I was not impressed. There were NO rainbows. None. Sunlight, OttLite, indoors or out, I could not see overwhelming holo goodness from this bottle.

Then, I tried it on.

And SPLADOW! There it was.

“Oh you don’t think I’m shiny enough??! How ’bout I blind you right in your left eyeball??! BLAM!”

LoL, anyhow… this is 4 coats. I did 3 originally and topped it with Essie Good to Go!, but it seemed not quite as holo to me, so I put another coat of Let’s Do It In 3-D. And I likes it.

I hope everyone had a safe New Year’s. Enjoy!

NOTD: China Glaze Millennium + Techno

Good morning!

I wanted to show you one of the manis that I might be sporting for NYE. A friend of mine might be coming down from Birmingham to watch the Beach Ball Drop. I haven’t seen this friend in well over a year, so I’m hoping plans go as scheduled. πŸ™‚

Millennium is the silver base you see. I have the hardest time painting my nails with these mirror-type-finish polishes because I always wind up streaking them. Probably why you won’t see a swatch of Millennium by itself any time soon LoL. However, it does make an excellent stamping polish.

Now Techno… that is the holographic blingtastic glitter you see before you. It is large hex holographic glitter as well as small regular holo glitter in a clear base. This is approximately three coats I’ve got going on here (the larger pieces were not wanting to deposit onto my nails). It will probably never build up into something you can wear by itself.

I received Techno from my blogger Secret Santa (thank you Bridget!!!!!).

Enjoy and have a safe New Year’s Eve. πŸ™‚

P.S. I figured I’d do the public service announcement:

Tipsy Tow offered by AAA: You don’t have to be a AAA member, from 6pm-6am on New Year’s Eve/Day they will take your drunken self and your car home for FREE. Save this number… 1-800-222-4357.

NOTD: OPI DS original

The last time I wore this, I did this polish zero justice. Shameful it was (Yoda!).

Anyhow, since it was all bright and sunny outside, I decided to whip it out again and fix the error of my ways! πŸ˜€

Ooooh… Ahhhh…

DS original is a light purple holo. And I loves it. And I wants to hug it and squeeze it and pet it… well, you get the picture.

I applied this in a sandwich method: base, two coats of DS original, layer of top coat, then another coat of DS original.

I really don’t find that top coat dulls the holo effect. Once it dries, it’s still just as blingtastic as always. I just wanted to try a new way of applying holo polish that I had heard so much about.

Enjoy the eye candy!

P.S. The hubs and I are in the middle of planning a move to Panama City next weekend. While we are sad to leave Mobile, we are hoping that this will open up a new and more exciting chapter in our lives. So I apologize in advance if posts get even more sketchier than they have been recently. πŸ˜‰

I also wanted to say hi to my new Twitter and FB followers. All of my followers mean so much to me. *hugs*

Pink Wednesdays: Finger Paints Easel-y Satisfied

It’s been two weeks (that I can remember) where I haven’t done a Pink Wednesday post. The shame! I will fix that today.

I am running out of pink polish and inspiration.Β I’ve been jealous lately about other bloggers’ layering combinations. I need more flakie polishes in my life so I can be like them when I grow up. LoL

So I did what I could and layered Easel-y Satisfied with a holo topcoat from Savvy. Mostly because the pink by itself bored me.

After I did this, I figured that I would like this better if I had done a gradient or something. I have all these wonderful ideas swirling in my head, and it’s a 50/50 chance that I can get it to come out.

And here is Easel-y Satisfied by itself:

It’s pink with pink shimmer. And it really reminds me of ChG 108 Degrees.
