So hey. How’s it?
I haven’t been around much. Got a lot on my mind. I’m sure y’all understand.
Not really much into talking. I’ll leave you with pictures instead.
I decided that I’d start posting some of the polishes I wore a while back… but never got around to showing. 🙂
Today’s exhibit is Essie’s Turquoise & Caicos. You can tell how old this pic is by the watermark. LoL.
Anyhow, I figured since it’s such a lovely day outside, I’d show this spring-delicious polish.
Happy Mardi Gras y’all.
I got this gem from my SFAM for chrimmas, but I didn’t get it until after chrimmas. 😉 Instead of making you guys wait a year, I thought this would be an appropriate green for Mardi Gras this year. 😀
Glittering Garland is a delicious green jelly packed with gold & green microglitter… and it looks like it has those China Glaze-famous glass flecks.
This is three coats without a topcoat.
I really really like this green (and I’m not much of a green lover).
Hubs and I are heading to the parades all day. I will try to tweet as many pictures as possible. 😉
Be careful out there if you go party. Have a D.D. And that doesn’t mean Designated Decoy. 😀
Happy Halloween everyone!
Soooo I was saving my (personal) best for last. I have for you China Glaze It’s Alive from this year’s Halloween collection shown two ways. It’s Alive has a sheer dark green base packed with bright green microglitter and small hex glitter.
First, I wore it regularly for a day or so, with just a top coat:
This is three coats of polish and two coats of top coat (because this polish eats top coat).
Then, I wore it matte for a day:
I can’t tell if I like it better shiny or matte. 😉
So I will tell y’all how 31 Days of Halloween came into existence: I was lying in bed with the hubs one morning in August (we were just about to crash down for the night). I was thinking of what all I could do on the blog for October. I knew I had some nail polishes that I had picked up last year (but wasn’t blogging yet) that I wanted to show. And I also knew that October would not be complete without showing some Halloween nail art. So I grabbed my notepad (the one I take with me almost everywhere–in case inspiration strikes on the road), and we brainstormed nail art ideas.
I had more ideas on my paper than I knew what to do with.
So I picked a few here and there to play around with… snapped some pictures… and the rest is history. I hope you have truly enjoyed this segment as much as I have enjoyed putting it together.
See you all on the flip side!
I bet some of y’all were wondering when this design would show up. 😉
That day has come. 😀
So I started with the Fright Night Claw Polish in Poison (from yesterday’s post). Did I mention that I like purples for Halloween? LoL
Which it really kind of wasn’t. Had I used a lighter base, I wouldn’t have had to outline stuff in white so you could see it. >.<
By the way, all the painting is done with acrylic paints. You have, of course, the hat, the cauldron, Brunhilde & her broom.
And because I wanted to use one of the half-pearls from the born pretty store as a wart, I went with stereotypical witch. LoL
Maybe next year’s witch will be sexy and cute. 😉
