So the hubs is a big Sci-Fi geek. One year, he carved us an alien pumpkin for Halloween.
So now I’m doing some alien nails for Halloween. LoL
I had to franken a base for these. I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Pure Ice Kiss Me Here. For every 4 drops of LF, I added 3 of KMH. So you get the idea if you try to duplicate it.
The eyes & nostrils are acrylic paint dabbed on with a dotting tool. The mouth is a nail art striper.
It’s a fairly simple design. The only thing that might drive you a little nuts is the eye shape. It’s easy to mess that up. 🙂
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my Halloween haiku giveaway!
Have I ever told y’all just how proud I am of my SFAM (for those of you new to the program SFAM=Sister From Another Mister)?
She runs a classic movie blog, and she’s hosting the “Loving Lucy” Blogathon on August 6, 2011. It would have been the actress’ 100th birthday.
I am preparing some nail art for this celebration (see? Anyone can participate!). I even frankened a color called “Lucy Loves Me” as the base for said nail art:
I didn't have a dark enough blue, so I had to make one. Ah, necessity.
Have I blown y’all’s minds yet? No? Oh. Hmph.
Well stay tuned on August 6, 2011 for the rest of this post. And in the meantime, I highly recommend checking out my SFAM’s site as well as the others who are participating in this blogathon.
P.S. You might have noticed that I set up a FB page for Shades Of Magick. Feel free to “Like” me. I mean, you can like me anyhow, but now I can have a record haha! Um. Imma go now…
Well you guys, I did it! I finally frankened a polish. I had so many ideas swirling in my head, I’m surprised I managed to get it together enough to pull this off.
I got my package from TKB Trading a few days ago and couldn’t wait to play with it. I ordered some Red #27 Lake dye and Holographic glitter, so I decided to make a dark pink jelly holo.
My camera refuses to pick up the holo goodness, and the sun isn’t coming out for long enough stretches of time.
And even though I have to shake the bottle to keep the glitter from settling, it is totally and completely worth it.
Here’s a blurred picture with flash to show off the holo goodness:
